Old Town Hall of Jönköping

Old Town Hall: The building we see today was inaugurated in 1699, and was designed by the governor of Jönköping County – Erik Dahlberg. The old town hall building was made of wood, and burned down in 1691. The new building was a grand stone house constructed in Dutch classicism. The building also included two wings, which were demolished after a fire in 1785. The old town hall retained its original function until 1914. In addition to town halls, the building has also served as a police office, prison and bank.
Today, the Church of Sweden is using this building. So you can spend a few hours here and drink some coffee or we call “FIKA”
